Animals Story

Most of Mark and Abigail Kimball's money has gone into his mayoral campaign. So when their son is kidnapped, the couple will have to get creative, and get their hands dirty, raising the ransom within hours, revealing a side of themselves no one has ever seen.

Power can't protect you.

Director, Writer and Crew

Animals is directed by Affleck and co-written by him along with Billy Ray and Connor O. McIntyre. The thriller stars Affleck in front of the camera, after helming 2023's sports drama Air.

Previously, he is known for directorial projects like Oscar-winning Argo and crime films like The Town and Gone Baby Gone.

Billy Ray, who has previously written hit films like Oscar-nominated Captain Phillips, has penned a handful of taut thrillers. A ransom-against-the-clock drama feels like tailor-made territory for him.

The film has been shot by Oscar-winning DP Robert Elswit (There Will Be Blood) and the editing has been done by Goldenberg and Christopher Rouse. The music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Martian).

Animals Cast in Brief

Washington is best known for playing crisis-cleaner Olivia Pope on Scandal. Anderson, who's acted in everything from The X-Files to The Crown to Sex Education, brings formidable gravitas wherever she's cast. Yeun received an Oscar nomination for Minari and won an Emmy for his lead performance in Netflix's Beef.

Woodley steps into the role of Denny, the Kimballs' kidnapped son. Fisher, who previously shared screen space with Affleck in Justice League (he played Cyborg to Affleck's Batman), appears as Ron Sperling.

Luis Gerardo Mendez, one of Mexico's most recognisable actors thanks to series like Club de Cuervos, is also a part of the cast.
