The makers have revealed that at school reunions people meet old friends and relive their old relationships and new relationships too. Similarly, the film revolves around three friends going to their school reunion and the film shows what happens to them after that. Further, the makers haven't revealed any more details as of now and ask the audience to watch the film in cinemas to know the rest.
Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar is the Hindi translation of which means first love, second time. The makers haven't revealed anything about the lead characters but from what they have shared till now, it can be assumed that all three of the leads end up in three different relationships. The film will show us everything about these relationships, how it happens, the fun, madness and hardships that comes with it and so on.
The film has been written by Luv Ranjan, Anuj Saini and Jehan Handa and has been produced by Luv Ranjan and his business partner Ankur Garg under the banner, Luv Films. Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar introduces six new faces to the Hindi film industry.
For those who don't know, Luv Ranjan is known for making quirky yet relatable comedies centred around relationships, Pyaar Ka Punchnama (and its sequel), Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Most of these films are about groups of friends debating and joking around on contemporary relationship issues. Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar is helmed by Anuj Saini and released theatrically on 23 October 2026.
Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar Cast
The film features six debutants in Hindi cinema, Alisha Chopra, Sparsh Walia, Sakshi Vaidya, Kunal Vaid, Sargun Kaur Luthra and Tushar Chhibber. Alisha will be playing the character of Gehna Gundecha, Sparsh will be seen as Gautam Govind Sharma, Sakshi will essay the role of Simran Sandhu. Kunal will be seen as Vedant Rawat, Sargun will be seen as Shivi Pradhan and Tushar will play the character of Karan Shergill.
Although all the actors/actresses are making their Hindi film debuts with this movie, some of them have worked in other mediums previously. For instance, Sakshi Vaidya has acted in Telugu cinema while Sargun Kaur Luthra is known for her television work.
Introducing New Talent
Luv Films previously introduced Kartik Aaryan to the Hindi film industry with Pyaar Ka Punchnama way back in 2011. Since then, Kartik has gone on to become one of the biggest young stars of Hindi cinema. So, it's safe to say that the production house knows a thing or two about scouting talent!

A Friendship Comedy!
With a debutant cast, it's bound to be a challenge for Anuj Saini to bring out the best in each of the actors/actresses individually. Moreover, Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar will be a friendship comedy so all the leads will need to click instantly. Having Anuj Saini (apart from Ranjan and Handa) pen the script will surely help him while directing the film!
Music and Cinematography
Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar will see Hitesh Sonik compose for the film. Considering the subject, we can safely assume that the music will play a pivotal role in this movie. Vidushi Tiwari will click the frames while Manan Sagar will be cutting the rushes.
The school reunion set-up offers a host of characters, your ex-friends, your ex-rivals, your ex-crush, that one classmate you had a crush on but never confessed to... And so on! This will enable Luv Ranjan to play around with multiple emotions, comedy and pathos. While we laugh at the way our school/college friends have turned out, we also realise that we ourselves aren't all that different!
Rom Coms Are a Specialty!
Romantic comedies seem to be the specialty of Luv Films. Their previous offering De De Pyaar De (starring Ajay Devgn) explored the territory of an older guy falling for a younger woman. In Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar, Luv Ranjan (who is known for exploring friendships and how friends perceive love/relationships) will once again take on the rom-com format. This time around, it's second chances at first love!
What to Expect in Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar?
If you liked Luv Ranjan's take on friendship (and romance), Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar should appeal to you. This one's a throwback to those times!
Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar is not a star vehicle. Rather, it is Luv Ranjan's (and Luv Films') bet on relatively unknown/new actors. Will it pan out for them? Will any of the six go on to become superstars? Who knows? But, till then, Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar will remain their calling card!
If you grew up with Luv Ranjan's films (especially, Pyaar Ka Punchnama), would like to watch something light-hearted with your friends and want to check out some promising new actors, Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar might just be perfect for you!
